8/8/2014. We were told to be outside of the Golden
Nugget at 7:45 am, We were out there at 7:30 and made a call when the shuttle
bus had not arrived by 7:55am. We were told that the bus was on its way.
We got to the Miracle Mile shopping center where on your
website we were supposed to have gotten a coupon book. We were told NO there
was no coupon book, but when we showed the website where it clearly states that
there was indeed supposed to be a coupon book, the manager went and found some
for us.
Next, we started on the tour, we asked for the air
conditioning to be turned up, and it was not. It was VERY HOT for the entire
ride. The tour guide, Angela, Did have some good information but talked mostly
about drinking and going to have a drink(alcohol).
We get to the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge,
and Angela(the tour guide) told us to meet the bus back after we checked out
the bridge in 30 minutes(they had to drop off the “floaters” at the other
area). We all were back in 30 minutes, and the bus was not back in that 30
minutes, In fact they were not back for another 40 mins(for a total of 70
minutes). There was no water there, no shade, and we all were outside in 100+
degree weather. I was very upset at this point. I live in Minnesota, and I am
really not used to such high temperatures.
So the bus finally comes back…we get on the bus, there is
still no air conditioning, and we are told there is NO WATER on the bus(it
clearly states on your website that there would be). We travel to the Hoover
Dam, take the tour and make it back to the bus on time to take us to Ethel M.’s
Chocolate factory. We were to be back at the bus at 3:15pm(they also stated
that they were going to change buses). I was in line waiting to pay for my
chocolate at about 3:13, The bus driver walked through the building looked
right at me, and exited the store. We Walked out to where the bus originally
was at 3:19, looked around , thought maybe one of the other buses that were
there was ours, but no! People were streaming off of the buses! This bus driver
stranded myself and my friend at Ethel M.’s!!!
It was 106 degrees that day. That is HOT. So to end the story, we were offered a ride from a nice family for Pennsylvania! God does work in mysterious ways... We ended up safe and sound.
This tour was from purchased from Groupon and it was for the hooverdamtourcompany.com
